This agreement covers underground development, production and related mining services.

Perenti announced that its underground mining subsidiary, Barminco, has secured a new contract to continue underground operations at Gold Fields' Agnew gold mine, valued at approximately A$500 million (US$320 million). The contract commences on January 1, 2025, for a period of 36 months, with an option to extend for a further 12 months. The scope of work includes underground development, production, and related mining services. This agreement underscores Barminco's decade-long operation at the mine, having provided underground mining services there since 2010.

Perenti Managing Director and CEO Mark Norwell said: "We are delighted to continue our partnership with Gold Fields at the Agnew Gold Mine. Gold Fields is one of our longest-standing and most valued clients, with a history of collaboration with various Perenti subsidiaries spanning over 30 years." "Our Australian operations are critical to Barminco delivering enduring value and certainty for our clients and shareholders. Securing long-term contracts with high-quality clients like Gold Fields contributes to the company's ongoing generation of reliable earnings." The Agnew gold mine is located near Leinster in Western Australia and comprises multiple underground operating areas. Current ore sources at the mine include the gold lodes within the Warrawoona underground complex, the Main Lode, and the Raja Lode. Barminco employs over 300 people at the mine site, making a significant contribution to the local economy. Perenti Contract Mining President Gabrielle Iwanow said: "Barminco has successfully enhanced development and production at Agnew in recent years. We value our relationship with Gold Fields and look forward to continuing to deliver safe and efficient underground services through our highly skilled team in Australia."

Last month, Barminco announced it would cease operations at MMG's Khoemacau copper mine in Botswana following the completion of its existing contract in June 2025.
