The initial underground resource marks a significant milestone for the Camino Rojo deposit in Zacatecas state.

Orla Mining announced its maiden underground mineral resource estimate for its Camino Rojo deposit in Zacatecas, Mexico, revealing significant gold, silver, and zinc content. The estimate shows substantial down-dip extensions from the oxide open pit, indicating promising underground opportunities. Measured and indicated mineral resources total 50.1 million tonnes (mt) at an average grade of 2.58 grams per tonne (g/t) gold equivalent, while inferred mineral resources are 5.60 mt at an average grade of 2.33 g/t gold equivalent. The new underground resources include the Camino Rojo Sulfides and Zone 22, extending approximately 1,200 meters below the surface from the bottom of the oxide pit. The contained metal within the 50.1 mt total consists of 3.95 million ounces of gold, 17.05 million ounces of silver, and 278 million pounds of zinc, equating to 4.16 million ounces of gold equivalent. The inferred mineral resource of 5.6 mt contains 0.40 million ounces of gold, 1.95 million ounces of silver, and 26 million pounds of zinc, totaling 0.42 million ounces of gold equivalent.

Jason Simpson, President and CEO of Orla Mining, stated, "Over the past few years, our efforts have focused on drilling the sulfide zone, refining the geological model, and extending the newly discovered Zone 22 mineralization. We have now delivered a significant initial underground resource, a key milestone that will inform the upcoming preliminary economic assessment and lay the groundwork for potential long-term production at Camino Rojo. The deposit remains open at depth and down-dip, and we continue our commitment to ongoing exploration to unlock Camino Rojo's full potential."

The underground resource extends up to 1 kilometer along strike with a width of 200 to 400 meters. Zone 22 represents a small portion of the current resource, and remains open at depth and down-dip, with drilling ongoing to incorporate results into future updates in 2025. The mineral resource is divided into three zones, each with specific processing options, and preliminary metallurgical tests indicate that material from Zone 22 is amenable to cyanide leaching and flotation. Orla's development strategy includes additional exploration, planning for the development of exploration drifts, process design, further metallurgical testing, engineering studies, and permitting activities. The company has submitted permit applications for underground access and exploration drifts, targeting construction as early as 2026. The Camino Rojo deposit comprises three zones: the oxide deposit, the sulfide deposit, and Zone 22. The geological controls and metallurgical testing of the deposit have been extensively studied, with the latter providing the basis for recovery model assumptions. Orla's ongoing exploration will continue to refine geological understanding and identify additional mineralized zones.
