The order is valued at approximately 450 million Swedish kronor (47 million US dollars).

Mining solutions provider Sandvik has received an order from China's mining service provider Jin Chengxin Mining Management Company to supply underground mining equipment for MMG's Khoemacau copper mine (KCM) in Botswana. The order is valued at approximately 450 million Swedish kronor and includes loaders, trucks, and drills, as well as digital monitoring solutions such as remote monitoring services. Delivery is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2025 (Q3 2025) and continue until the second quarter of 2026.

In June, JCHX Mining Management Company secured a five-year contract for KCM's underground mining operations. KCM is expanding in the Kalahari Copper Belt in Botswana, a region known for its mining prospects. MMG announced the acquisition of Khoemacau in November 2023 and completed the transaction in March 2024. The mine completed low-cost operational construction in June 2021 and reached full production capacity in the fourth quarter of 2022. Khoemacau's annual copper concentrate production is expected to be between 43,000 and 53,000 tons. The mining process at Khoemacau includes underground mining using the deep-hole mining method. Ore is transported via a 35-kilometer dedicated haul road to the Boseto processing plant. The final copper concentrate will be shipped to international customers. Further studies and drilling for the mine expansion project indicate that, leveraging its strategic position in the emerging Kalahari Copper Belt, copper production could increase to over 130,000 tons per year, and silver production could increase to over 5 million ounces per year.

Khoemacau mine employs approximately 1,800 people, of whom 95% are local residents of Botswana. The mine is expected to have an operational life of over 20 years.
